Where does BugParche operate?
We're based in La Vega, Cundinamarca, in the Colombian Andes, and our expeditions follow routes across Colombia — from the Magdalena River valley to Andean cloud forests, rising from near sea level to over 9,800 feet. Each leg of the journey is chosen for a specific ecosystem and the species that live there.
When is the best time for a nature expedition in Colombia?
Colombia sits on the equator, so there's no closed season — wildlife is active year-round.
Do I need previous birdwatching or photography experience?
None at all. Our guides are seasoned naturalists and photographers, and they plan the experiences to fit whoever is on the trail — from first-time observers to specialists with a life list.
What languages do your guides speak?
All our expeditions are guided in native English, and we are professional interpreters who translate from Spanish to English for you to be in constant communication to your surroundings. We also speak Portuguese, Italian, French and German, collectively.
How large are the groups?
Groups of up to 20 travelers, crafted to feel exclusive and effortless. With one expert guide for every 5 guests, every moment stays personal, smooth, and never crowded—so you enjoy nature with comfort, attention, and space to breathe.
How long are the expeditions?
All BugParche expeditions run over several days. Covering multiple ecosystems takes time — and so does the kind of patient observation that produces real sightings.
What wildlife can I expect to see?

You’re exploring the most biodiverse land on Earth, where every step of the route reveals a species found only in that ecosystem.
